Zambia Mission Trip

July 29th — August 9th, 2024

We are Katie & Clara Bennett,

a mother, daughter duo, who are excited to travel to Zambia, Africa this summer as part of a mission team.

We will be traveling with Woodcreek Church in Richardson, TX, along with Clara’s nana, Jan Bennett, and serving in orphanages and supporting local missionaries, the Boone’s, with leadership development.

Zambia is a unique country in that it is 98% evangelical Christian. However, according to the local missionaries, there is a devastating lack of discipleship, and the prosperity gospel has led many to attend church and claim Christianity in pursuit of financial, physical, and outward blessings rather than a life that is truly surrendered to Christ. There is an on-going need for discipleship and leadership development.

Also, due to the high rate of HIV/AIDS infections, the country is teaming with poverty and an orphan crisis. Organizations like Every Orphan’s Hope, with whom we will be serving, are bringing stability and the hope of Christ to these suffering children. Additionally, Every Orphan’s Hope places widows in the homes as caretakers over the children, thus intentionally caring for both orphans and widows as the Bible commands.

For all these reasons, we are excited to see and be a part of what God is doing in Zambia. Our trip is from July 29-August 9th.

Get Involved

Pray

Our only desire is to please God with this trip. Please join us in praying that we will be effective and open-hearted to all He wants to do in and through us. There are also perils involved in traveling to an underdeveloped country, so we would also appreciate prayers for safety and wisdom.

Give

At this point, we are hoping to raise about $3,000 to offset the costs of the trip (total cost is $6,500). If you feel led to support our mission trip, thank you!

Schedule a Mini Session May 3rd & 4th

We would like to give back to those supporting our trip! That’s why we’ve planned 2 days of mini-sessions on May 3rd & 4th, in two distinct locations. These sessions are by donation only, so feel free to give whatever you normally would to support a mission trip & enjoy a photo session as our thank you! Photo sessions are 20 minutes in length and include high-resolution digital images with printing rights. Prints are not included with the session fee but may be purchased separately.

Frequently Asked Questions

What will happen if it rains?

There will most likely be three options.

1. A studio session at the original time.

2. An alternate date offered for those who can make it work

3. The option to switch to the other date (May 3rd or 4th)

Unfortunately, we cannot guarantee your session will happen as planned. Please join us in praying for great fair weather!

How long do sessions last?

All sessions will last 20 minutes with a 10-minute buffer between each group. It is very important to arrive early to ensure you get the full benefit of your session. Because sessions are scheduled back-to-back, we won’t be able to extend your time if you are late or have trouble finding us.

What do I get with my session?

You will receive all final images from this session as downloadable digital files. You are welcome to make prints of the images yourselves or purchase professional prints through your gallery. Prints are not included with your session donation.

When and how should I make my donation?

Feel free to make it at any point in the process, either upon booking, the date of the session, or after seeing your final images. Donations may be made through our Go Fund Me page, in cash, or by personal check to Katie Bennett.

Is there a suggested donation amount?

No, there isn’t. Whether you would like to give $10 or $500 or anything in between, we are grateful! No amount is too small. We are happy and excited to serve our church family, and we know God will provide exactly what we need.

What if I really want to do this but can’t make those dates work?

Unfortunately, we can only do mini-sessions on pre-determined dates. However, feel free to reach out to get a quote for a full session at another time.

What should I wear?

We recommend coordinating colors and subtle patterns, as well as dressy clothes such as collared shirts and dresses. Tennis shoes and t-shirts with logos are generally not advised, but it’s your session, so feel free to wear whatever you would like!
